I think I've been brainwashed by Grease, a few weeks ago I watched for the first time in ages and I loved it so much! Since then I often go out, then stop for a while, look at myself and think 'Wait, this is a 50s outfit!'. :D 1950s have always been one of my favourite fashion eras, I think Lolita must have something to do with that because of all the puffy high-waist skirts I've got used to...
Lavender pleated skirt - vintage from Portobello market, lilac shirt - Lindex, red bow briefcase - OASAP, red rocking-horse shoes - Bodyline, pink lace socks - LegSavvy, lilac tights - F&F, pink spiked headband - Topshop, pink bow ring - gift, pink inverted cross unicorn necklace - Clotique
That day I just had some errands in the city and I went for lunch with my father. I didn't even dress up that much but I guess my sense of aesthetics has become too twisted because I got so many stares and comments. I don't really care but it gets annoying sometimes.
I really like the colour combination of red and lilac. This time I disrupted it by some pink accessories to soften it a little, not too many because I wanted to keep it simple. By the way, don't the red briefcase and rocking-horse shoes look like they were made for each other? I didn't even think about it when I ordered the bag from OASAP. :D

Where do you take 50s inspiration? Would you please make inspiration article, maybe? :)
ReplyDeleteYou should watch the movie Grease, there's a lot of fashion inspiration... but I'll take this comment as an excuse to do an inspiration post in the future. :D Thanks for the idea. ^^
DeleteThank you! I really love your style so I'm really curious about your inspiration :)
DeleteLove everything around here; with the cardigan you look so great! I feel the same about you with Grease, and also I watched Cry Baby a week ago... I forgot how much I loved that film; Traci Lords simply looks awesome on it <3!

Thank you! ;3 Well I don't think this can be called Lolita because it doesn't have the typical Lolita silhouette but of course there are elements of it in this outfit. n_n
