Beauty School Dropout

Yesterday I went for a latté with a pastel-haired fellow Lookbooker Koraline, I saw her in person for the first time and it was really nice, you can never be awkwardly silent with someone who shares your shoe obsession, has colourful hair and/or loves lilac and mint. ^^

The inspiration behind my outfit was pretty much a gang member from Grease. (I still can't get over how amazing the movie is even after watching it a million times!) My character in the story would be one of the Pink Ladies obviously... *cough* and I'd steal John Travolta from Sandy *cough* It's sort of a modern take on the 50s, which are one of my favourite and most influential eras fashion-wise.

I really love flowy skirts like this one from Romwe, that float behind you when the wind blows and create this movie-like effect. I also like the asymmetrical design, mini in the front, maxi in the back and it also has an opaque underskirt which is nice.

I got a little box of pretty stockings from LegSavvy the other day, one can never have enough of hosiery (especially when you're as skilled as me and get ladders almost all the time after the first wear). These stripped thigh highs are one of my favourites and they hold up perfectly, I put suspenders on just for the effect (well they were unseen so more like just for the feeling :D).

Oh and for those who haven't seen Grease (or even those who have and love it as much as I do) - the scene I refer to in the name of this article. Frenchy is definitely one of my favourite characters and I just love this scene (and her pink hair aww)
